That's exactly what they got.

The Problem
The existing shower walls in this Cleveland rental unit were worn out and not properly waterproofed. In a rental property, a poorly tiled shower is a ticking clock — water gets behind the walls, mold grows, and you end up with a much bigger and more expensive problem than a tile job.
The owner needed the shower rebuilt properly — demo'd, waterproofed, tiled cleanly, and finished to a professional standard that would hold up for years of tenant use.
How We Fixed It
Demolition & Surface Preparation
The old shower wall finishes were removed. The existing shower base was carefully protected — no damage, no replacement needed. All debris was cleared, and surfaces were cleaned and prepped to receive new materials.
Cement Board & Waterproofing System
Cement board was installed on all shower walls — properly secured to the framing, flat and plumb. Then a full waterproofing system was applied: every joint, seam, corner, and fastener sealed, with two coats applied to all shower wall surfaces. This is the step most tile jobs skip. We don't.
Full Shower Tile Installation — Walls, Trim & Window
Wall tile was installed from floor to full ceiling height — approximately 75 square feet plus the upper extension area. Lines were kept straight, spacing consistent, and the layout centered and symmetrical. Metal edge trims were installed at all exposed edges for a clean professional finish. The window opening inside the shower got proper tile returns, clean alignment, and finished edges. All joints were grouted evenly, surfaces cleaned, and caulk applied at all corners, plane changes, and around the window.
The Result
Unit #1 at 2025 Murray Hill Rd now has a shower that looks sharp and is built to last. Straight tile lines, consistent grout, clean metal trim at every edge, and a proper waterproofing system behind it all. No shortcuts, no callbacks.
